CLEVELAND - Delta State University junior pitcher Korey Cunningham has been named GoStatesmen.com Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 27. It’s the first award for Cunningham this season, but the fifth overall for the Statesmen baseball team.

The 6-foot-2 Clinton native allowed just one run in his seven inning complete game performance against third-ranked Southern Arkansas, 10-1, on Saturday, April 26. It was his fourth complete game of the season. The victory locked up the 20 th GSC West Division title in the program’s history and helped the Statesmen extend their school-record wining streak to 22 games.

This season, Cunningham has not lost a game as a starter and boasts an 8-1 record with a 2.25 ERA.
