J.A. "Bud" Thigpen, Jr. Annex

The recently completed J.A. "Bud" Thigpen, Jr. Baseball Annex was turned over to the Delta State University Department of Athletics on June 13, 2005.

The family of the late J.A. "Bud" Thigpen, Jr. made the facility a possibility by their generous donation to Delta State Athletics.

The Thigpens have a long and storied history with Delta State baseball. Judson Thigpen was a standout reliever for Coach Dave "Boo" Ferriss from 1975-78. Judson was a part of two College World Series teams during his playing days.

Judson's son, Jud led DSU to the program's first ever NCAA Championship and for his efforts was named the 2004 Rawlings/ABCA NCAA Division II Player of the Year.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony took place last October.
