DSU Completes NCAA Play
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State advanced to its third straight NCAA Championship appearance as the Blazers swept Delta State 5-0 in NCAA Men’s Tennis South Region play at the VSU Tennis Courts Friday morning. 

The Blazers opened the match with victories in all three doubles matches, including at No. 1 where Joerg Ekkenga and Leos Jelinek downed Pascal LaPlace and Rafael Weigard 8-0. Florian Halb and Richard Malobicky topped Kirill Pervoun and Julien Beckensteiner 8-3 at No. 2 while Otto Lenhart and 
Michael Kuech claimed an 8-2 victory over Thiago Marion and Felipe Fonseca at No. 3. 

Valdosta State closed out the match with a pair of straight set victories in singles action. Kuech defeated Marion 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles while Ben Cattan downed Fonseca by the same score at No. 6. 

The Statesmen finished the year 11-6 overall and ranked 31st in the final College Tennis Online Rankings.
