CLEVELAND - Delta State University baseball completed the early signing period Thursday, as East Central Community College's Ernie Triplett signed a national letter of intent to play for coach Mike Kinnison and the Statesmen next season.

Triplett, a pitcher/outfielder from Louisville, played both ways for coach Neal Holliman and the Warriors last season as a freshman.   The 2010 Team Captain batted .278 at the plate and swiped 12 stolen bases, while working off the mound as a starter and reliever.

Triplett is a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.

Triplett played football and baseball at Louisville High School before signing with ECCC.  The speedster played in the secondary on LHS's state championship team.
