Statesmen place two on D2Football.com's All-America Team

CLEVELAND -
The Delta State University football team placed two Statesmen on the D2Football.com All-American Team, as released on Monday. DSU senior linebacker Lardester-Hicks Green was named to the Second team defense, while wide receiver/running back Trevar Deed earned Honorable Mention honors as an all purpose player.

Hicks-Green, 6-foot-1, 225 pound outside linebacker, native, finished off his final season as a Statesman with 94 tackles to go along with 15 tackles-for-loss and four sacks. The Chicago, Ill. native also set new career marks for DSU and Gulf South Conference defenders with 343 career tackles.

Deed, a 5-foot-10, 200 pound junior, continued his assault on the record books with another balanced offensive attack. The Phoenix, Ariz. native ended the 2009 season with 1957 all purpose yards and 15 touchdowns. His 931 yards rushing and 805 receiving led the team in each category.

The D2Football.com All-America Teams were selected by a vote of the media as coordinated by Brandon Misener, Editor of D2Football.com.
