Spencer named Academic All-Region by CoSIDA

CLEVELAND-Delta State University senior guard Eric Spencer was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District as released on Thursday Feb. 4.
Spencer was named First Team District 6. To be voted as a member of the team, the student athletes must be a major contributor for his team, and also carry a minimum 3.2 grade point average. Spencer was the only student athlete from Division II named to the team in District 6. The team is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The Marion, Ark., native is a Biology major in the classroom. During his three year career, Spencer has helped guide the Statesmen to the semi-finals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, as well as the NCAA Tournament in the 2009 season.
Spencer averages 11.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, he also ranks eighth all-time at DSU with 84 career three pointers.
