CLEVELAND -
Delta State University head women's basketball coach Sandra Rushing announced the signing of Wallace State Community College standout Jamie Lack to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday.  Lack's signing is the fifth this period for coach Rushing and the Lady Statesmen.

"Jamie will be a great asset for this team next fall," Rushing stated.  "She comes to us with the ability to score around the basket, but she is also an excellent post defender.  I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do for the Lady Statesmen next season."

The 6-foot-3 power forward/center proved to be one of the top post players in the Alabama Community College ranks last year at Wallace State-Hanceville under head coach Larry Slater.  In 21 games, Lack scored 194 points for a 9.3 points per game average.  She connected on 44 percent (74-of-168) of her shots from the field, while 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

Lack finished the 2009-2010 season ranked third in the ACCC blocks per game and total blocks, while finishing 12th (67.2) in free throw percentage and 16th in field goal percentage (44.4).  Her 5.5 rebounds per game came in 27th and her 9.3 points per game average was 31st.

Off the court, Lack was selected for the "Who's Who Among Students in America's College and Universities" for 2010 and was a two-year Dean's and President's List honoree at WSCC.

At Elkmont High School, Lack was a two-sport athlete, starring on the basketball and volleyball courts.  She was a three-year letter-winner in both sports at EHS. Her junior year she received All-State honorable mention, while making the Alabama High School Athletic Association All-State Team as a senior.

In 2008 as a senior at Elkmont, Lack was voted "Homecoming Queen" and was a nominee for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
