OVERVIEW
DSU's Coed Squad (Green Squad) is a student activity in the Division of Student Affairs. The Coed Squad usually consists of up to 20 members; these members are the squad members selected at the spring tryout process, or throughout the summer. A maximum of 10 women and 10 men will be chosen for this squad. All former squad members are required to tryout each year. The squad cheers for all pep rallies, football games, home basketball games and makes many other appearances for the University and the Cleveland Community. This program is a highly competitive and time consuming activity.

ELIGIBILITY AND ACADEMICS
Interested participants must follow the standard admissions procedure of Delta State University, Contact the Admission Office at 1-800-GO-TO-DSU or (662) 846-4020 for information. Freshmen, transfer, or currently enrolled DSU students may tryout with a proof of acceptance upon receipt of final transcript or enrollment to DSU at the time of tryouts. A 2.0 or greater GPA is mandatory.
Delta State provides study hall sessions for participants, assists with scheduling and excused absences for athletic events. We also monitor each participant's grades and intervene if necessary.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The DSU Department of Athletics provides financial support to our coed (green squad). We currently offer one of the best cheerleading scholarship opportunities in the nation. Scholarships are available and based upon your status on the squad, including both mascots. Cheerleaders on scholarship are required to maintain full time student status and an overall 2.5 GPA.
TRYOUTS
Delta State University will hold tryouts for the 2010-2011 academic year on the weekend of April 23-24, 2010. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. on April 23 on the first floor of the Dorgan Center. Tryouts will begin at 9 a.m. on April 24.
Registration: April 23 - 5 p.m. - Billy Dorgan Student Performance Center
Participants will learn a cheer, chant and the DSU Fight Song to be judged Saturday, April 24. Participants will also begin stunt work to identify potential partners for judging.
Tryouts: April 24 - 9 a.m. - Billy Dorgan, Jr. Student Performance Center
Participants will review chants and DSU Fight Song. They will also have an opportunity to tumble for additional points. Actual performances will be in small groups. Tryout results will be posted to www.GoStatesmen.com later in the day.
Tryout Notes
Tryout attire consists of white tank top with green or black shorts. As with any tryout, transportation, meals and housing are the responsibility of each potential student-athlete. No video entries will be accepted. If you are unable to participate on the dates of the tryout, please contact coach Dent (662-846-4300) to make additional in=person arrangements.
