Daniel Hawthorne begins his second year as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Media Relations Office.

Hawthorne will serve as the primary contact for DSU's soccer and swimming and diving programs.

Hawthorne's duties include writing press releases, media guide production, website production, and statistical duties as assigned.

Prior to joining the media relations staff, Hawthorne served as Sports Editor for The Statement, Delta State University’s weekly student newspaper. He currently serves as color-commentator for Cleveland’s East Side High School football team.

The Alamogordo, New Mexico native is a 2007 graduate of Delta State University with a degree in journalism. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Administration.
