A four-time All-American for former DSU Swimming head coach Ronnie Mayers, Oguz enjoyed one of the most accomplished careers in the pool of any Statesman in school history.  The Istanbul, Turkey, native closed his career, Oguz atop the record book in the 50-Free, 100-Free, 200-Free Relay, 400-Free Relay, 800-Free Relay, 200-Medley Relay and 400-Medley.  The speedster also held 22 of the top 10 times in school history in the 50-Free, 100-Free, 200-Free and 100-Butterfly events.

The two-time New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Scholar Athlete, claimed a fourth place finish in the 50-Free at the 2000 NCAA Division II National Championships. Oguz also competed as an amateur on the Turkish National Team, holding the record in 50-Free.
