Elizabeth Wallace Woods was a four-year letter winner for coach Lloyd Clark and the Lady Statesmen basketball team from 1987-1990. She helped guide the green-and-white to two NCAA Division II National Championships in 1988-1989 and 1989-1990. While spending most of her time as a defensive stopper for DSU, she averaged 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds during her four-year career.
A native of Silver Creek, she received the 1989 Lady Statesmen Defensive Player of the Year Award and was a 1990 Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities selection. She is often credited with being the emotional leader of the Lady Statesmen, willing the team to the 1990 national title.
