- Started Delta State Aquatics Club for area swimmers in 1974
- Started Delta State University Swim Program in 1984
- Helped organize New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference
- Named Conference Coach of the Year 14 times
- Swimmers made 15 NCAA National Championship appearances
- Coached 226 swimmers that were selected All-Conference performers
- Teams won 6 Men's Conference Championships
- Teams won 5 Women's Conference Championships
- Men's & Women's teams have produced 56 All-Americans
- 100 yard backstroker, Justin Whitaker won a National Championship in 2002
- Swimmer Mandy Lee named Mississippi's NCAA Woman Athlete of the Year in 1999
- Coached 15 Academic All-Americans
- Coached 8 swimmers that were named DSU's Kerg Senior Athlete of the Year Award winners
- Received the U.S. Swimming Award for Distinguished Serivice to Mississippi
- Presently serves as an assistant professor of HPER, Aquatics Director, and Assistant Athletic Director for Special Projects at Delta State
