CLEVELAND -
The Delta State University Lady Statesmen Cross Country team turned in another solid performance, placing 19th out of 32 teams, which placed fifth among non-Division I teams in the top 20, Saturday at the Brooks' Twilight Invitational at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Tenn.  32 teams and 256 runners competed Saturday. 

For the second-straight race, coach Doug Pinkerton's club had four freshmen hit the line first.  Stacey Hagenson, a freshman from Popularville, finished first for the Lady Statesmen, placing 48th with a 19:00.08.  It was the second-straight race for Hagenson under 19:30. 

Annalee Pierce was next to cross the line for DSU.  The freshman hit the line in 20:10.41 to place 114th.  Hannah Grace Whitaker was 118th with a 20:15 to placed third for DSU.

Alyssa Shetley finished the challenging course in 20:37.34 to place fourth for the Lady Statesmen and take 138th overall.

Sophomore Ashley Carrillo placed fifth and 142nd overall with a 20:40.36.  Maddie Glass finished the race with a 21:01.36, good enough to take 158th. 

Amanda Corneilison (22:56.22) and Hend Alboshaba (27:38) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Statesmen, placing 206 and 249, respectively. 

Five Lady Statesmen ran personal best 5K times – Ashley Carrillo, Maddie Glass, Stacey Hagenson, Hannah Grace Whitaker, and Alyssa Shetley. Both Amanda Cornelison and Annalee Pierce ran season best 5K times.
