TVA Credit Union Invitational Final Results (PDF)
KILLEN, Ala. - The Delta State Statesmen Golf team finished ninth overall at the TVA Credit Union Invitational held at Turtle Point Country Club Tuesday.
Grant Goforth led the way for the Statesmen, finishing in a tie for 15th place overall after closing out the invitational with a 3-under par round of 69 in round 3.
Goforth finished +4 overall for the three-round event after entering the day at 7-over-par through 36 holes.
Luke Brown, who led the Statesmen after the first two rounds, finished in a tie for 25th place after shooting 7-over-par for the tournament with a final round of 76.
The Statesmen as a team stayed pretty close with the leaders in the final round, but were unable to gain much ground, moving up from 10th place after day one.
North Alabama won the event, setting a blistering pace that was unable to be matched. The Lions finished 18 strokes under par, 30 shots better than Valdosta State, who finished second overall.
Jake Greer, of North Alabama, won the individual competition, shooting 13-under par for the event. Blaine Wilson was 10-under par for the event and finished seven strokes better than third place.
Trey Howell finished 45th overall for the Statesmen, shooting a final round of 78 to close out the tournament at +12.
Justin Glenn had the second best round of the day for the Statesmen, shooting a 3-over-par round of 75. Glenn finished in a tie for 57th in the overall.
Caleb Westmoreland finished in a tie for 62nd after shooting +18 for the 54-hole event.
