CLEVELAND – Delta State University senior tennis player David Voravongsa has been named an All-American by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, as released on Wednesday. This marks the second All-American honor for Voravongsa in his career and the first for the Statesmen tennis program this year.
Voravongsa, a 6-foot-1 senior from Cannes, France, finished the year ranked fifteenth in singles in the Fila/NCAA Division II Top 30 rankings after guiding Delta State to the NCAA South Region final. The speedy right-hander finished the year 6-5 in singles and 6-9 in doubles after playing number one singles and doubles all year for the Statesmen.
Voravongsa capped his three-year career as one of the most decorated Statesmen in history. He is the program's first two-time All-American and the senior was selected to the All-Gulf South Conference First Team for a third consecutive season this year.
