First Round Results

CLEVELAND –
The first day of competition in the 21st annual Derrall Foreman Classic, hosted by Delta State University at the Cleveland Country Club, concluded Friday with North Alabama and Lambuth tied for the lead with a 287. Delta State sits one stroke back at 288.

North Alabama’s Brett Munson, the 2008 Foreman Classic Medalist, holds a narrow lead for the Medalist with a first round 68.

The Statesmen, led by Collin McCrary’s 71, shot a combined 288 to finish day one in third place.

Jordan Breaux and Chase Smith were one stroke behind McCrary with a pair of 72’s. Austin Smithers rounded out the scoring for the Statesmen with a 73. Seth McBrayer’s 78 did not factor in the team’s overall first round score.

Casey Patterson and Andrew Simons competed as individuals for the Statesmen with Patterson carding a 1-under 71. Simons shot an 80.

Complete team scores are listed below.

The Foreman Classic concludes Saturday with the second and final round at the Cleveland Country Club. Tee time is set for 7:40 a.m.
