Lady Statesmen drop a pair of matches to ranked opponents
PENSACOLA, Fla.,-The Delta State University women’s tennis team dropped a pair of matches over the weekend to a couple of ranked opponents.

The Lady Statesmen (8-4) fell 6-0 to #14 University of California San Diego on Saturday and 5-4 to #6 West Florida on Sunday.

The Lady Statesmen dropped all six singles matches to UCSD in the loss. Cecile Benzaki lost a tough match 7-6, 6-4 to Natalie Varnay.

Although the Lady Statesmen fell to the Lady Argos, much needed momentum was picked up in the loss. Milena Araujo and Katharina Nett picked up a big doubles win, 8-5 over Mattos and Brewster of UWF.
Cecile Benzaki, Lisa Jamais, and Krystle Ozols each picked up tough singles wins in the match.

The Lady Statesmen will attempt to bounce back as they take on Southern Arkansas in a GSC contest on April 2.
