BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Delta State University freshman Julien Maurin and sophomore Alexandre Waeters were named to the Gulf South Conference's All-GSC Men's Tennis First Team, as released by the league office on Wednesday.  The tandem helped the Statesmen rally from a slow start this season to finish second in GSC West Division and 5-8 overall.  

Maurin, a freshman from Clapiers, France, finished the season 4-8 in singles action, but helped the Statesmen tremendously on the doubles side with an 8-4 effort. 

Waeters, a junior from Vertou, France, was rock solid for coach Asa Atkinson's Statesmen this year, finishing the season slate 7-3 in singles play and 8-4 in doubles action. 

The All-GSC Team was nominated and selected by a vote of the league's 14 men's and women's tennis coaches.  No ties were broken.
