David Voravongsa was named to the GSC All-Decade Team on Thursday.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The GSC Men's Tennis All-Decade Team is led by five schools. Valdosta State and West Florida made up the East Division Team with four honorees apiece. Ouachita Baptist earned four members on the West Division squad, while Delta State and Harding completed the list with two respective players on the West team.

The Statesmen are represented on the All-Decade Team by Alex Alvez, a four-time All-GSC selection and 2004 GSC West Division Player of the Year, and David Voravongsa, the 2005 GSC West Division Player of the Year and three-time All-GSC selection.

West Florida's Radovan Chrz earned the GSC East Division Player of the Decade award. Chrz compiled an impressive four-year career at UWF, culminating in the Argonauts' 2004 NCAA Title. Chrz claimed GSC Player of the Year awards in 2001 and 2003, while also posting All-GSC First Team accolades all four seasons. The 2004 ITA Senior Player of the Year notched All-American accolades all four years and was a GSC “Top Ten” honoree in 2004.

Current West Florida Head Coach Derrick Racine is the GSC East Division Coach of the Decade. Racine came to Pensacola, FL in 1999, building a 277-70 overall record. Since 2001, he's led the Argonauts to four GSC Titles, seven NCAA Semi-Finals and NCAA Titles in 2004 and 2005. Racine is a five-time ITA South Region Coach of the Year and was tabbed National Coach of the Year twice.

Ouachita Baptist's Ondrej Vana was voted the GSC West Division Player of the Decade. Vana excelled at No. 1 Singles and No. 1 Doubles for the Tigers from 2005-08, earning All-GSC First Team laurels three times and claiming Player of the Year awards in 2007 and 2008. He posted All-American honors for three seasons and also advanced to the GSC All-Academic Team three times. Vana completed his stint at OBU with a 53-27 singles record and a 68-20 doubles mark.

Current Ouachita Baptist Head Coach Craig Ward earned the GSC West Division Coach of the Decade accolade. Ward completed his 20th season in Arkadelphia, AR this past spring after turning the Tigers' program into one of the top in Division II. The 2009 GSC Coach of the Year has led OBU to 10 GSC West Division Titles this decade and four GSC Tournament Finals. Ward has also guided Ouachita Baptist to 10 NCAA tournaments, led by a National Semi-Final berth in 2005.

Valdosta State is the decade's top Men's Tennis program, tallying 88 out of a possible 92 All-Sports Trophy points for a 96% mark the past 10 seasons. The Blazers won six GSC Titles, including four consecutive from 2007-2010 and finished atop the East Division five times. VSU moved on to the NCAA post-season all 10 seasons, advancing to the National Title Match on four occasions led by the 2004 NCAA Championship.
