CLEVELAND, Miss. - Homecoming is an annual right of passage for Delta State University alumni, fans, friends and community supporters! This year's Homecoming promises to be one of the best yet, as the Green-and-White host a week-long set of events aimed at walking you down memory lane. Catfish on the Quad, sponsored by the Student Government Association, kicks off the week's events on Monday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. and culminates with a weekend packed full of opportunities for our alumni, fans and friends.

"This year's Homecoming has been in the works for the better part of the year," Ronnie Mayers, director of athletics, said. "Our committee, chaired by Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Vernell Bennett, has been working on the schedule of events for quite a while and I believe we are offering something for everyone this year."

"A Statesman Stroll Down Memory Lane," is the theme for this year's event, which features the annual DSU Alumni Association Awards Gala on Friday, Nov. 10, with Saturday's schedule including the Homecoming parade at 11:30 a.m. followed by the 85th Homecoming Classic between Florida Tech and Delta State at 2 p.m. inside Parker Field-McCool Stadium.

There are numerous events scheduled throughout the week, including the Gulf South Conference/Sunshine State Conference Crossover featuring Delta State men's basketball. DSU will host West Alabama, Florida Southern and Eckerd for a Friday and Saturday doubleheader with games starting both days at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Sillers Coliseum. 

"We hope you will consider coming back to campus during Homecoming week and especially for the weekend's events," Mayers added. "There's nothing better than coming back to campus and supporting your Statesmen and Lady Statesmen."
