CLEVELAND- Saturday night's practice session marked the sixth day of fall camp for the No. 24 Delta State University football team.
The Statesmen practiced for the second straight day in full pads in preparation for Sunday's 3 p.m. scrimmage.
Short yardage situations were the focal point of Saturday's practice session.
"We are getting better everyday, and that's what camp is all about," said Statesmen head coach Ron Roberts.
"The intesity has picked up, and guys are competing for a spot on the field," Roberts added.
Sunday's scrimmage will give fans the first chance to see the Statesmen in a game scenario in preparation for the Sept. 4 showdown with Jackson State at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson.
As always, Sunday's scrimmage is free and open to the public.
