CLEVELAND - The No. 24 Delta State University football opened fall camp Monday with a two hour practice under the lights at Parker Field-McCool Stadium. It was the first sessions of the week-long camp.
"We had a quality opening session tonight and the guys really picked up the rhythm and pace of practice well," stated DSU head coach Ron Roberts. "Tomorrow will be much hotter and we expect an even better practice."
The Statesmen worked through 17 team periods and 7-on-7 scale in helmets and shorts before a small crowd. Tuesday's session will begin at 3 p.m. on the practice fields adjacent to Parker Field-McCool Stadium. All practices are open to the public.
DSU kicks off the 2010 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 at Jackson State. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson.
