Caue Da Silva, a freshman forward for the Statesmen Soccer team, was named the GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Green-and-White to a weekend sweep of Millsaps and Mississippi College. The victories extended DSU's win streak to three matches.
For Da Silva, who is garnering his first-ever award, made it a highlight reel Sunday by scoring a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in the 31', against the MC Choctaws defense. The São Sebastião do Caí, Brazil native blasted seven shots, six on goal, en route to his three goals and six points for the Statesmen.
Da Silva has scored four goals on the year, while striking 17 shots with seven on goal.
