Guillaume Lacour, a senior on the Statesmen tennis team, captured his first career GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading Delta State to a 5-2 victory over NCAA Division I Alcorn State University this past Sunday, March 25. Â Monday's announcement is the second-straight recipient for the men's tennis team.
Lacour, a native of Saint Denis en Val, France, claimed a 6-1, 6-4 victory in No. 2 singles for the Statesmen over Alcorn State's Victor Vosilevski.  The three-year letterman also teamed with Florian Mondoloni, last week's winner, to claim an 8-6 victory in No. 1 doubles for the green-and-white.
Lacour and the Statesmen return to the court this week at Alabama-Huntsville on Thursday, March 28 in a key Gulf South Conference match. Â The Statesmen are currently 2-2 in the GSC, which is fourth in the standings, and 7-3 overall this season. Â Â
