Delta State forward Willie Readus (SR, 6-7, 265, Morton, MS) is this week’s Noah Basketball Gulf South Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The senior led DSU to victory in its lone game of the week behind his first double-double of the season.
Readus guided the Statesmen to an 82-71 victory at in-region, LeMoyne-Owen, leading all players with 31 points and 13 rebounds in 37 minutes of action.
The Morton, MS native also shot 75.0 percent from the field and hit 13 of his 19 free throw attempts. His point total was the highest in the league this year and his rebound mark was one shy of the season’s top effort.
