Katie Swaine, a sophomore goalkeeper for the Lady Statesmen soccer team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Female Athlete of the Week after her recent performances for Delta State.

The 5-foot-6 converted keeper made 19 saves over the weekend, including a career-high 10 at the University of West Alabama. Swaine followed that up with eight saves at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. 

Through seven matches, Swaine leads the GSC and ranks 42nd nationally with 41 saves.
