Matthew Swaine, a junior diver for the Statesmen Swimming & Diving team, captures his second GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading Delta State to a decisive 208-67 victory over Thomas University this past Saturday, Jan. 31 in Pensacola, Fla.
The Loveland, Ohio native shattered the Delta State school record and established a new West Florida Aquatics Center record in the 1-Meter, 11-Dive with a score of 515.20 on Saturday. He also won the 3-Meter, 6-Dive with a 275.65.
Swaine and the Statesmen will begin preparations for the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships coming up February 18-21 at the DSU Aquatics Center. Five teams from across the country will be competing in the event.
