Fabrice Wendel, a sophomore member of the Statesmen swimming and diving team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com/Cable One Male Student-Athlete of the Week after leading Delta State to its first NSISC Championship since 2003-4.

The Leonberg, Germany native captured all three events in which he raced (50-freestyle, 100-freestyle, 200-freestyle).

Wendel, who shared NSISC Male Swimmer of the Year honors with teammate Matteo Fraschi and Alex Bryson of St. Cloud State, captured back-to-back championships in the 50 and 100-freestyle events.
