 Brandon Cummins was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for after helping lead the Statesmen to a 3-1 record last week. Cummins hit .563 (9-for-16) with eight runs scored, six RBIs, three doubles, one triple and a home run.  The Drew, Mississippi, native went 3-for-6 with three doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored versus Southern Arkansas.  His three doubles were one away of tying the DSU single game record of four held by Marcus Van Every. Cummins hit .545 (6-for-11) with a triple, a home run and four RBIs while slugging 1.000 with a .545 on base percentage in the Statesmen three-game sweep of Union.
