Reed Lindsey, a junior on the Statesman golf team, has been selected the CableOne GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Monday, April 27. It's Lindsey's second honor this season.Â
After leading the Statesmen to a school-record four tournament victories in 2014-2015 and a third place finish last week in the Gulf South Conference Championship, Lindsey was selected to play as an individual in the upcoming NCAA South/Southeast Regional. The four-day event will run May 3-6 in Dade City, Fla.
Lindsey enters as the top ranked player in the region and will have a chance to advance to the NCAA Division II Championships in Conover, North Carolina on May 18-22 if he finishes among the top two individuals whose teams do not advance.
Lindsey finished fifth at the 2015 Gulf South Conference Tournament, earning All-Tournament honors for the third straight year. He has posted 11 rounds under par that includes seven rounds in the 60s with a low round of 65.
