Vlad Zinca, a senior All-American on the Statesmen Swimming & Diving team, is the final CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2014-2015 academic year. The seven-time NCAA All-American was the 2015 recipient of the Charles S. Kerg Senior Male Student-Athlete of the Year Award during Delta State's annual awards presentation.
Zinca is a member of the Statesman Swimming and Diving Team. The Pitesti, Romania native is a double-major in computer information systems/business administration and holds a 3.64 GPA. During Zinca's four-year career, the butterfly specialist established team records in the 100-Fly and 200-Fly events.

The seven-time All-New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference selection won the league title in the 100-Fly and 200-Fly at this year's championship after winning both a year ago.Â

Zinca was a three-time qualifier for the NCAA Division II National Championships, earning All-American status seven times. An All-American in the pool, Zinca also holds the honor in the classroom, having been named to the College Swim Coaches Association Academic All-America Team three times.
