Tyler Sullivan, a 6-foot-3 redshirt junior quarterback for the Delta State University football team, has been named the CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Statesmen to a 48-7 victory over Fort Valley State University in the season-opener at Parker Field-McCool Stadium.Â
The Louisville, Mississippi native completed 16-of-25 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 42 yards on five carries and two rushing touchdowns. Sullivan completed touchdown passes of 58, 59 and 60 yards in the victory and moved to 14-3 all-time as Delta State's starting quarterback.
Sullivan, who also captured his fifth Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, will lead the Statesmen into their showdown with No. 22 Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Commerce, Texas.
