Austin Jackman, a senior on the Delta State men's soccer team, has been named the CableONE GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 4, after leading the Statesmen to a 4-2 victory over Harding University and he played a key role in a 3-0 shutout at Ouachita Baptist to cap the week.
The St. Charles, Illinois, native scored two goals on three shots, including a beautiful bag off a corner, in the victory over Harding on Sept. 29. He also played 58 minutes versus the OBU Tigers on Friday.
Jackman and the Statesmen return to the pitch on Tuesday, as DSU hosts Cumberland at Delta Field. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
