Kailey Bryan, a senior on the Lady Statesmen soccer team, captures her first CableONE GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor after bagging a goal in the 80th minute of DSU's 2-1 loss on Sunday, Oct. 18 at Delta Field.
The Snellville, Georgia native blasted the ball, off an assist by Tabitha Hayden, past the Shorter Hawks' keeper in the 80th minute, as the Lady Statesmen mounted a furious comeback on Senior Day. Unfortunately for the Bryan and the Lady Statesmen, time was not on their side in the loss.Â
Bryan, a nursing major, has played in 14 games for the Lady Statesmen, scoring two goals and assisting on two others. She will lead DSU back into action this weekend at the University of West Florida on Friday and Spring Hill College on Sunday.
