James Kilpatrick, a 6-foot-3 guard on the Delta State Men's Basketball team, earns his first CableONE GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor after leading the Statesmen to a pair of victories over Christian Brothers University and previously unbeaten No. 24 Union. Kilpatrick averaged 11 points and 8.5 rebounds on the week.
The Memphis, Tennessee, native made the most of his 16 minutes Thursday night, dropping in 11 points and clearing a career-high nine rebounds in DSU's 74-71 win over the Buccaneers. He finished the night 5-of-10 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the line.Â
Kilpatrick, a Cincinnati State CC transfer, also delivered 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds with four blocked shots in 30 minutes of work in Delta State's 71-69 thriller over No. 24 Union at Walter Sillers Coliseum.
