Leftfielder Will Robertson, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound senior on the Delta State baseball team, has been named the CableONE Male Student-Athlete of the Week aftwer leading the Statesmen to a weekend sweep of Harding 11-5, 2-1 and 5-4.Â
Robertson was forced to sit out the 2015 season after hurting his elbow the previous summer. After working his way back through surgery, he made an immediate impact in DSU’s 11-5 game one win, going 2-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs.
In Sunday’s series finale, The Falkner, Miss., native was 3-for-5 with a double, solo home run, two runs scored and he drove in one.
In 2014, Robertson was named ABCA/Rawlings All South Region First-Team, GSC All-Tournament Team and All-GSC Second-Team after leading the league in hits with 62 and batting average (.388).
