Celina Stracke, a freshman on the Delta State women's tennis team, picks up her first career CableONE GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week award after leading the Lady Statesmen to a 3-1 start this season at the Ouachita Baptist University Tigers Invitational.
The Cologne, Germany native opened the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Harding's Emily Faulkner at No. 6 singles in DSU's lone loss to Harding. Stracke followed that performance with back-to-back victories over ATU's Camila Roca 6-2, 6-4 and HSU's Mariah Bartlett 6-2, 6-0.
Stracke and the Lady Statesmen will return to action on Feb. 26 at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., as both clubs open Gulf South Conference play.
