Tori McDonald, a junior on the Lady Statesmen Cross Country team, has been named the CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week after her stellar performance this past weekend at UAH Charger Invitational in Huntsville, Ala. Tuesday's honor is McDonald's first this season. 

McDonald clocked a 20:59.05 en route to a 53rd place overall finish for the Delta State cross country team Saturday at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Cross Country Invitational at Sharon Johnston Park on Saturday, Oct. 1.

McDonald, a Canton, Mississippi native, paced the Lady Statesmen in averaging 6:48 per mile over the 5-kilometer course. McDonald's time is her fastest of the season by more than 17 seconds.
