This week’s CableOne GoStatesmen.com Female Athlete of the Week is Takisha Jordan of the Lady Statesmen basketball team. 

Jordan tallied her first career double-double, racking up 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in Delta State's 58-38 victory over Mississippi College. 

Jordan, a Decatur, Ala. native, helped the Lady Statesmen hold MC to its lowest scoring output of the season. The 38 points allowed by the DSU defense was the fewest allowed all season. The Lady Statesmen currently own the second-best scoring defense in the Gulf South Conference, giving up 55.5 points per contest. 

The senior guard is second on the team in averaging 13.4 points per game, and adds 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists, and has scored in double-digits in 16 of the 18 games she has played in this season. 

The Lady Statesmen return home on Thursday, Feb. 1 to face West Georgia at 5:30 p.m. for Pack the House night. It will also be Bolivar County Alumni Night. There will be in-game promotions and giveaways, and there will be spirit challenges for all campus organizations will take place to help crown a Spirit Cup winner. It will also be Dollar Dog night, where fans can purchase hot dogs for just $1, along with a variety of other concessions.

The first 400 fans will also receive a FREE t-shirt and a FREE rally towel, so come out and show your Green-and-White pride!
