Lucia Martelli, a freshman on the Lady Statesmen Swimming & Diving team, was named CableOne/GoStatesmen.com Female Student-Athlete of the Week after leading Delta State to a 26th place finish at last week's NCAA Division II National Championships in Greensboro, N.C.

The Bologna, Italy native, recorded a 7th place finish in the 100-Fly and an 8th place finish in the 200-Fly to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Championships. She also helped the Lady Statesmen claim two top 30 relay finishes during the meet.
