Freshman Bailey Pounds was named one of GoStatesmen.com's Featured Athletes of the Week, presented by Guaranty Bank, as she helped the Delta State University women's cross country team to a 3rd place finish at the University of North Alabama Invitational on Friday, Sept. 25.
Pounds, who led the Lady Statesmen as the team's top finisher for the second consecutive race, posted a 21:42 on the 5K course at McFarland Park. The Brookhaven, Miss. native, placed eighth overall for the Green and White.
Delta State is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Little Rock, Ark. for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Open 5K.
