Sophomore Savannah Hudgins was named one of GoStatesmen.com's Featured Athletes of the Week, presented by Guaranty Bank, as she helped the Delta State University women's cross country team to a 3rd place finish at the University of North Alabama Invitational on Friday, Sept. 25.
Hudgins, who has trimmed nearly four minutes from her 5K time already this season, posted a 22:54.88 on the soggy 5K course at McFarland Park. The Saltillo, Miss. native, placed 20th overall for the Green and White.
Delta State is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Little Rock, Ark. for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Open 5K.
