Delta State University Statesmen swimmer Emanuel Fava was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after helping lead DSU to a second-place finish at the annual Delta State Christmas Invitational.

Fava finished second for Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet with 124 total points scored. Fava won the 100 backstroke with a 47.94, and he also won the 200 backstroke in 1:44.64, which was eight seconds faster than his preliminary swim. 

Fava added a title in the 200 individual medley with a 1:45.51, which reset his own pool record. The time was also good for an automatic qualifying time for the spring's NCAA Division II Championships. Fava also finished second in the 100 butterfly with a 47.88
