Delta State University softball player Lacey Coats was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Athlete of the Week after she allowed just two runs in 13 innings of work in DSU's weekend series against Mississippi College. 

Coats, a Hernando, Miss. native, worked seven shutout innings in game two of Sunday's doubleheader. Coats held Mississippi College off the scoreboard and gave up four hits and three walks while she struck out three to pick up her fourth win of the campaign. 

Coats started game two of the doubleheader as well, which was game three of the series, and allowed a pair of runs and six hits in six innings of work in a tough-luck loss. 

Delta State returns to the diamond on Saturday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Feb. 28 against the University of West Georgia at University Field in Cleveland, Miss. The Lady Statesmen and Wolves are set for a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. before concluding the series with a single game on Sunday at 11 a.m.
