Delta State University baseball player Hayden White was named one of the Guaranty Bank Featured Athletes of the Week after he hit .667 and helped the Statesmen post a 4-0 record for the week last week against the Auburn University at Montgomery and the University of Montevallo.
White, a Madison, Miss., native, hit .667in four games (12-for-18), hit three home runs, tallied seven RBI, hit two doubles and scored 10 runs as Delta State took the series from AUM with a 15-5 win, and then swept Montevallo.
White went 5-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in a 15-5 series clinching win against the Warhawks of AUM to start the week, and then added a two-run homer in the first inning of a 13-9 game two win against the Falcons.
He clubbed his second two-run home run of that same game against UM in the sixth inning. White also went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in game one against Montevallo, and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in game three.
Delta State returns to action at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field on Saturday, April 24 with a doubleheader against the University of Alabama in Huntsville. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m., with a single game to follow on Sunday, April 25 at 2 p.m.
