Delta State University softball player Alyssa Gover was named one of the Guaranty Bank Featured Athletes of the Week after she went 3-for-5 with an RBI against Montevallo this past weekend.
Gover, a sophomore outfielder from Stanton, Tenn., went 1-for-1 in a pinch hit opportunity in game two of the series, before turning in a 2-for-3 performance in the series finale.
Gover went 2-for-3 in the final game of the series as she added an RBI single in the first inning that helped Delta State take a 5-0 lead after one inning. She also added a single to center in the third and scored a pair of runs for the Lady Statesmen.
Delta State returns to action at University Field on Saturday, April 24 with a doubleheader against the University of Alabama in Huntsville. First pitch is scheduled for Noon, with a single game to follow on Sunday, April 25 at Noon.
