Delta State University

Delta State University softball player Kailyn Lofton was named one of DSU's Guaranty Bank Featured Athletes of the Week after she hit .300 (3-for-10) this past weekend against the University of Alabama in Huntsville. 

Lofton opened the series with a 2-for-3 effort and hit her third home run of the season in a 6-5 Delta State win over Alabama-Huntsville. She drove in two runs and scored two runs for the Lady Statesmen. 

The home run tied the game a 5-5 ahead of a Lady Statesmen walk-off win to secure game two of the series against the Chargers. 

The Lady Statesmen are off in the final weekend of the regular season and will wait and see if they earn a berth in the Gulf South Conference championship.
