Delta State University football player Cole Kirk was named a Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athletes of the Week after their performances this past weekend.

Kirk earned his first Guaranty Bank Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season after helping the Delta State football team to a 14-13 Homecoming win over Shorter University.

Kirk was 17-for-30 for 117 yards for the Statesmen. He also earned the Gulf South Conference's Freshman of the Week honors for Delta State. 

Delta State is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at Parker Field-McCool Stadium as the Statesmen welcome Mississippi College for the final regular season  home game of the campaign.
