Daisy Simms enters her first season as a student assistant coach for the Delta State women's soccer team.
A native of Portsmouth, England, Simms has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. In England, she played in the Southern Premier League for Portsmouth Ladies FC and for the county of Hampshire.Â
She moved to America in 2012 and began her freshman year of college at at the University of Science and Arts in Oklahoma. In 2013, she transferred to Jacksonville College in Texas where she broke the records for fastest goal scored in school history, fastest Hatrick scored, most goals in a game (5) and made the all region team. Simms transferred to Delta State in August 2014 to play for the Lady Statesmen.
Simms, who is also the assistant soccer coach at Bayou Academy, will graduate from DSU in December 2016. She hopes to further her studies by earning her master's degree at Delta State while continuing to coach soccer.
