Carrollton - The Wolves are a tempo setting team, and scoring early is always apart of setting that tempo. With the game winner coming in the first six minutes of play, Delta State eventually fell prey to a final score of 4-0.
The 2008 West Georgia Wolves are a senior laden and a senior driven team, and against the Lady's Statesmen, senior's Erika Harvey and Samantha Jones connected at the 5:53 mark in the first half and again in the second half at the 64:36 mark, both off of corners from Jones and headed in by Harvey.
Wolves' fans should also be aware by now of the young talented freshmen that prowl alongside their veteran counterparts. Angie Jolley and Cydney Raymond each scored their fourth game of the season, and Raymond collected her second assist on Jolley's goal.
UWG has picked up the tempo this season, as Harvey, Jones, and Melanie Kilburn have all already surpassed last season's numbers, and the defense already has five shutouts through ten (10) games; one more than all of last season.
Delta State is now 7-3-2 overall and 1-1 in GSC play, while West Georgia improves to 6-3-1 overall and 1-0 in GSC play.
The Lady Statesmen remain on the road this Monday as they travel to Houston, Texas to take on Houston Baptist. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m.
